Tryon Country Club held their annual “Fruits of Our Labor” tournament on Monday, September 4. It was a two-person modified alternate shot format for 9 holes with prize selection and lunch after golf. Every player came with a gift and left with a different gift. Gifts were chosen in the order in which they finished. There were 16 teams competing and the winners are listed below:

 

1st place – Jerry Pospisil & Brad Rakow – 32.6 

2nd place – Mike Bates & Dave Gunter – 32.8 

3rd place – Sam Roden & Sally Roden – 33.4

4th place – George Torres & Diane Torres – 33.8

5th place – Mike Burrell & Jim Diggs – 34.8 

6th place – Gil & Kris Spencer – 35.3 

7th place – Dave Hosick & Donnie Carruth – 35.6

8th place – Jerry Perry & Bill Basye – 37.0

 

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a 1 Best Ball of 3 format on Tuesday, September 5. It was a “net” event and the scores were very close. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Ann Gargiulo, Lisa Bjerring, Jo Ann Silvia – 29

2nd place – Joyce Arledge, Cindy Caldwell, Becky Kennedy – 30 

3rd place – Peggy Henson, Reid Toth, Inglis Sellick – 31

4th place – Mary Lou Diekmann, Stephanie Demeranville, Heidi Shull – 32
