TRYON—Community members who are interested in discussing affordable housing in our area will now have an opportunity to do so during a new monthly meeting.
Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity has announced ‘Coffee with a Purpose,’ where it invites community members to enjoy a cup of coffee and hear how it is confronting the affordable housing crisis in Polk County and the City of Landrum. The event will take place the first Thursday of every month at Tryon Coffeehouse.
“Collaboration is the hallmark of all great endeavors,” says Linda Corns, Director of Restore Operations for Habitat. “Together we can work to preserve, strengthen and secure safe, affordable housing and the opportunity it represents for so many families in our community.”
The first meeting will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 7. ‘Coffee with a Purpose’ will return on October 5 and November 2.
“Together we can build homes, communities and hope,” says Corns.
Tryon Coffeehouse is located at 62 N. Trade St. in downtown Tryon. For more information on Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity, visit thermalbelthabitat.org.
