A second-half scoring flurry Wednesday propelled Polk County to a 6-0 victory over Madison in a non-conference boys soccer matchup in Asheville.

The Wolverines exploded for five goals in the second half to take the win in a match played at Buncombe County Sports Park. Madison’s home stadium is currently undergoing repairs and the Patriots will have no on-campus matches for the second straight season.

Polk County (3-0-2) held a 1-0 lead at the half before the fireworks in the final 40 minutes, that rally helping drop Madison to 1-3 on the season.
