The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a 1 Best Ball Of 4 format on Monday, August 21, along with Closest-to-the-pin contests on both par threes. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – George Torres, Bill Kelly, Jerry Perry, John Gargiulo – 28

2nd place – Russ Rabenstein, John House, Ed Weatherby, Jim Diggs – 28 

3rd place – Keith Beaver, Bill Hillhouse, Tom Bolling, Mike Burrell – 30 

4th place – Randy Conway, Mike Axelrod, Donnie Carruth, Charles McKeller – 31

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played on Tuesday, August 22. The format was a 2 Best Balls of 4 both Gross and Net, along with a Low Putts Contest. The results were as follows:

 

1st place Gross – Tracey Beaver, Lisa Bjerring, Jo Ann Silvia, Brenda Hudson – 101 

1st place Net – Diane Torres, Nancy Hiley, Lib McKeller, Mary Lou Diekmann – 68

2nd place Gross – Cindy Caldwell, Peggy Henson, Becky Kennedy, (BP) Mary Lou Diekmann – 101 (lost scorecard playoff)

2nd place Net – Kathy Clark, Reid Toth, Caroline Brown, Stephanie Demeranville – 71
