The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a “Carolina Scramble” on August 7, and had closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3s. The results were as follows:

2nd place – Mike Bates, Bill Basye, Bill McCall, Bill Hillhouse – 31

3rd place – Roger Dehnel, Mike Burrell, Donnie Carruth, Keith Beaver – 31

4th place – John Schickling, Jim Diggs, George Torres, Art Brown – 32
