Polk County FFA capped another outstanding school year with its annual trip to the North Carolina FFA Camp Program at White Lake.
The Polk County contingent split into three teams to take part in camp competition. The Silver squad placed third, with the Blue team taking fourth and the White team earning ninth.
The camping program consisted of character-building, leadership and recreational activities. Each day began with students taking part in devotions, flag-raising ceremonies and calisthenics. Students then attended leadership sessions, where they enhanced their leadership skills.
Campers then spent the remainder of each day participating in competitive events such as water sports (swimming, canoeing, water ball), basketball, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, checkers and table tennis.
Points were awarded for each activity and the team with the most points at the end of the week was declared the winner.
