Sizemore Gymnastics Academy competed at the 2023 Amateur Athletic Union National Championship on July 2 in Orlando, Fla.

Aria Springs and Emma Whitehurst represented SGA at the AAU Xcel Silver level. Genevieve Ard participated at the AAU Xcel Gold level. Sherlyn Trejo and Kylie Whitinger competed at the AAU Xcel Platinum level. 

From SGA’s Silver team, Aria received 35.55 all-around from her 4th on vault with 9.375, 4th on beam with 9.075, 8.75 on bars and 8.35 on floor. Emma achieved 35.9 all-around from her 9.35 on bars, 9.125 on vault, 8.725 on beam and 8.7 on floor.

In terms of SGA’s gold team, Genevieve earned 36.85 all-around from her 3rd on vault with 9.3, 4th on bars with 9.4, 9.15 on floor and 9.0 on beam.

For Xcel platinum, Sherlyn earned 2nd all-around in her division with 37.975 all-around from her tie for 1st on bars with 9.775, 1st on beam with 9.75, tie for 1st on floor with 9.65, and 8.8 on vault. Kylie raised her all-around to 33.6 all-around from her 8.825 on floor, 8.425 on bars, 8.3 on beam and 8.05 on vault.
