Making all that music will be a piano, bass, drums, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 4 saxes and featured chanteuse Wendy Jones, along with Russ conducting, as well as singing a few tunes himself.

Arguably Asheville’s most popular big band leader, Russ has shared the stage with many famous musicians in his 42-year career—including Charles Dungee (Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn), Melva Houston, Jimmy Thackery (The Nighthawks), Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Charlie Musselwhite and Bob Margolin, to name a few. Russ’s most recent release is Russ Wilson and The Wrong Crowd – Blues, Riffs & Standards.

New View Realty of Tryon is the presenting sponsor of  Summer Tracks’ 23rd season. The concert sponsor for the show on July 28 is Stott’s Ford. A full schedule including performers bios and photos can be found at www.summertracks.com.

All shows begin at 7 pm. In case of rain, concerts will move across the street inside Tryon Fire Dept. Manzolina’s On Wheels Eatery will be selling grilled hotdogs, sandwich wraps, ice cream, snacks, water and soft drinks. Alcohol consumption is allowed in the park but is not for sale. Please remember, no dogs are allowed. Audience donations along with many local business and individual sponsors make these shows possible.
