The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a 2-man Scramble and had closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3s on Monday, July 17. There were 13 teams vying for the win and six teams who finished within two shots of claiming 1st place. The results are listed below:

 

1st place – Ed Weatherby & Tom Murdoch – 30.75

 

2nd place – Mike Bates & Donnie Carruth – 32.0

 

3rd place – George Torres & Gerry Holstein – 32.0

 

4th place – Roger Dehnel & Jim Diggs – 32.25

 

5th place – Mike Axelrod & Ken Watson – 32.25

 

6th place – Dave Gunter & Bill Kelly – 32.75

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a 2 best balls of 4 format and had a Lowest putts contest on Tuesday, July 18. There were five foursomes playing for the win. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Peggy Henson, Ann Gargiulo, Becky Kennedy, Anne Connolly – 64

 

2nd place – Joyce Arledge, Jo Ann Silvia, Lynn Morrill, Brenda Hudson – 69
