Parental training workshop to be held in Columbus

Free course to provide training for parents with special needs youth

 

COLUMBUS– The Parent Advisory Council is teaming with Innovative Approaches and Polk County Human and Health Services to offer free parent leadership skills training to assist people with children and youth who have special healthcare needs.

The training course, Parent Leadership Training: Critical Elements in Collaboration, will be taught by Lee Kube, an experienced educator who is passionate about the wellbeing and safety of youth with special needs. 

Working closely with local and state organizations to advocate parent education, Lee serves as a Department of Health and Human Services Family partner, an Individual Education Program Parent partner and is a surrogate parent for the Asheville City School District.

The free training course will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20 at WithALL Church, located at 76 North Peak St. in Columbus. Free childcare will be provided during the workshop.
