Laura Spinks and Jane Eden recently racked up the biggest score at the Foothills Duplicate Bridge Club, with a 69.44 percent win in the North-South on Thursday morning.

The hand of the week came Friday morning, when Chris and Robbie ter Kuile bid and made 7 Clubs on Board 10, the first grand slam of the year.

Here are the top scorers from last week’s games:

Thursday Morning, July 6

North-South: Laura and Jane, 69.44 percent; Don Eifert and Flora van Dijck, 57.94.

East-West: Fiona Armson and John Kennedy, 61.90; Nancy and Jim Muller, 58.73.

 

Thursday Afternoon: Rise Meyers and Gretchen Jack, 59.26; Carolyn Elsey and Lisa Shelton, 58.80; Don Eifert and Sally Jo Carter, 57.87.

 

Friday Morning, July 7: Fiona Armson and Mary Elder, 63.28; Linda Sherer and Helen Clement, 61.46; Leslie Tucker and Tom Adkins, 56.37.

 

And in the Saluda Mountain game on Monday, July 10, Sally Jo Carter and Lee Ellis prevailed with 64.68 percent, followed by John Kennedy and Jane Eden, 59.56; and Vicki McCartha and Beverly Abrams, 57.43.

Foothills DBC hosts ACBL-sanctioned games on Thursday at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and on Friday at 9 a.m. at Tryon Congregational Church. Saluda Mountain hosts a game Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Saluda Senior Center. Contact Bill at matchcar4@gmail.com for more information.
