Homicide investigation underway

 

POLK COUNTY—Police say a person was found dead on Monday morning due to gunshot wounds. 

At around 11:30 a.m. this morning, Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of Fox Mountain Road after receiving a call about shots being fired. When they arrived at the scene, deputies confirmed one person was deceased from gunshot wounds, and are treating the investigation as a homicide.

Detectives are currently working on the investigation and there will continue to be a large law enforcement presence in the area throughout the day. At this time investigators do not believe there is any threat to the community.
