COLUMBUS—A Columbus man was arrested last month on multiple charges in Polk County, including eluding arrest and drug possession.

On Tuesday, June 27, Gavin Brock Shelton, aged 20, was charged with nine counts that included fleeing/eluding arrest in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speeding, driving left of center, failure to yield at a stop sign/flashing red light and improper attachment of a registration plate. Shelton was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

Shelton was booked into Polk County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond for eight counts and a $6,000 secured bond for the possession of methamphetamine charge. His court date is scheduled for July 12.
