The meeting will include an update on TDDA programs, the introduction of new TDDA officers and awards for economic development, promotion and design. There will also be a chance to join or renew membership with TDDA.

Special guest speaker Beth Heile will round out the evening’s agenda with a presentation on the Great Trails State Coalition. A state-wide initiative, the Coalition is working to recognize 2023 as the Year of the Trail in North Carolina and celebrate the power of outdoor assets to build communities and generate revenue in towns like Tryon. With a vast knowledge of government processes, grants, conservation, planning and trail building under her belt, Heile is currently President and Founder of Friends of the Valdese Rec, immediate past president of Friends of the Fonta Flora State Trail and President of the Burke River Trail Association. And, most importantly for this year, she is a member of the statewide planning team for NC Year of the Trail.

Representatives from Conserving Carolina will also give an update on the Saluda Grade Trail and how Tryon businesses can position themselves for a successful partnership.

The Annual Meeting is open to all Tryon businesses and residents interested in supporting TDDA. The mission of TDDA is to preserve and enhance the community of Tryon through a downtown revitalization program that focuses on economic vitality, excellent urban design and historic preservation.
