Local graduates awarded scholarships from Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Tryon will award 18 college scholarships and 3 awards totaling $39,000 to Polk County graduates this year.
The following Polk County High School students received a $2,000 Rotary Scholarship, renewable for four years: Susanna Ashworth, Colton Bradley, Isabella Cesante, Kathie Cothran, Andrew Dimsdale, Allison Kennedy, Michelle Ketwitz and Ella Waldman.
The following Polk County Early College students received a $2,000 Rotary Scholarship, renewable for two years: Adrianna Chavez, Destiny Duncan, Victoria Garcia, Elizabeth Lopez, Mario Rodriquez Padron, Austin Sparks-Trumble and Sydney Uhrich.
Three previous scholarship recipients will renew their scholarships to continue their education next year: Chauncey Barber, Jaiden Davis and Avery Hamrick.
The Rotary Club of Tryon will also be presenting two $1,000 awards this year. The Mahler Family Award will be presented to Kathie Cothran and Michelle Ketwitz to recognize academic excellence, and the Oritz Award will be presented to Colton Bradley in recognition of service to the community.
