A new committee of Saluda Living in Place (SLIP) will hold a celebration event this week.

‘On Track Saluda’ kicks off on Thursday, June 22, at McCreery Park in downtown Saluda from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to this free event.

‘On Track Saluda’ was formed to help folks live healthier and happier lives, by focusing on healthy food, movement and social gathering. At the event, attendees will learn about fun and easy ways to eat more healthily no matter how many picky eaters there are in the household, while discovering new ways to be more active.

Participants who are new to the area, seeking friendships or just feeling a little ‘blah’ will enjoy the fun while making new connections.

Additionally, the event will feature information for visitors and locals showcasing existing volunteer organizations, community clubs, healthy food options and hiking trails in the area.

The ‘On Track Saluda’ kick-off celebration will be a fun summer evening of food, music, dancing, and connections. This event is sponsored by St. Luke’s Hospital, SLIP, Green River Adventures, Looking Glass Realty and Glenn Franklin.

SLIP is a non-profit organization that works to change the experience of aging through access to services, education, social activities and community involvement.
