The pub’s original restaurant opened its doors at 142 Third Ave. West in Hendersonville in 2017. Brooks Tavern owner Tom Verri also owns Verri’s Italian Ristorante, which opened in Hendersonville in March of this year.

Brooks Tavern offers a large menu including appetizers, “tavern fare” and award-winning hamburgers, as well as desserts. The pub boasts a reputation as “purveyors of good food, giggle water, and more.” Brooks even calls its signature drink “Giggle Water.”

The owners of Harper Eatery and Pub, Ben and Jeff Sellers, decided to close down the restaurant after the death of their father, Snell Sellers in April 2023.

The new Brooks Tavern will take over the space at 10 Oak St in Tryon in mid-July.

Brooks Tavern will be open seven days a week. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. every day but Friday and Saturday, when it stays open until 9 p.m. It offers brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
