COLUMBUS–The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course. The course concluded last week.

The R.A.D. course is a self-defense class exclusively designed for women, offering a straightforward and efficient approach. The course encompasses a lecture segment that focuses on Risk Awareness, Risk Reduction, and Risk Avoidance, followed by hands-on tactical training. This system enables women to progress at their own pace, providing the option to actively participate in simulations or observe from the sidelines.
