Lopez says he fell in love with music when his parents gave him piano lessons at age five.

“I think it was just one of those things in my DNA when I got to a certain age I always wanted to be on stage and wanted to rock and roll,” says Lopez. “My brother was my drummer at seven years old and we were just putting on rock shows from the very beginning. I just knew it was what I wanted to do.”

Lopez began playing bars in his hometown of Martinsburg, West Virginia as a teenager. In college, he says he got more serious about his music, networking within the industry and eventually landing some gigs in Nashville. Lopez says his musical influences range from AC/DC to Johnny Cash with Levon Helms of The Band and North Carolina’s Avett Brothers having particularly strong impacts on his musical style.

Lopez has toured the east coast from Florida to New England and as far west as Texas and has shows planned this summer in Los Angeles and Portland. He says he hopes to make an impact on Tryon audience members next week.

“I want them to leave with a buzz of happiness and invincibility,” says Lopez. “I’m going to do what I normally do which is to put on a rock show and leave it all on the stage.”

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. with food by Mountain View BBQ & Deli along with beer, wine and other beverages for purchase. The concert series is sponsored by Plume Family Foundation, Kirby Endowment at Polk County Community Foundation and WTZQ.
