TRYON–The Celebrity Roasters, led by Host Pam Stone, are on their way to Tryon. The “roastee” will be none other than favorite local character, Mr. Dean Trakas.

Eight of Tryon’s most upstanding citizens will give Dean a send-up to remember. It is also Dean’s 61st birthday. This will be a “can’t-miss” event for Tryon.

The Celebrity Roast is an important fundraiser for the Tryon History Museum. The museum is making plans now to move into a brand new space in the former Owen’s Pharmacy store.  Construction will begin soon on the whole building complex. The Museum Board hopes to move before the end of the year.

In addition to brand new quarters, the board is working hard to upgrade all of the main exhibits.  The “new” museum is also the official Tryon Visitor Center for the Town of Tryon. The location facing Trade St. will allow the Museum to be a major anchor of the downtown area and a point of interest for the visitor and local residents alike. The Museum will help in directing visitors to local restaurants, merchants, entertainment venues and attractions.
