On display since March 18, these exhibits by local and regional artists have drawn art lovers into the contemporary gallery at 49 South Trade Street. Glance’s revealing and detailed drawings and paintings have provided a glimpse into his prolific and creative mind. Heckelman’s “imagined landscapes” are popular for those attracted to serenity and the great outdoors. And, Tanner and Young’s works playfully explore the various aspects of cows and colorful abstractions to the delight of gallery-goers.

The gallery’s upcoming exhibition, entitled Time’s Witness: Work by Arden Cone & Millicent Kennedy, opens on Saturday, May 6, however, the opening reception will be the following Saturday, May 13, starting with a 4:30 p.m. Walk & Talk. This exhibit will feature creative works made from found objects.

The gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. There is no cost to view the exhibitions or attend the receptions. For more information, please visit UpstairsArtspace.org or call (828) 859-2828.
