How it happened: The Wolverines took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Chloe Young delivered a double and Sarah Vitale followed with an RBI single to stake Polk to its early advantage.

Landrum responded with two runs in the top of the third to take the lead, then scored three runs in the fifth without a base hit, putting together four walks and an error for the three runs.

The Cardinals then added three more runs in the sixth as an error on Gianna Delucca’s two-out fly ball with the bases loaded allowed Landrum to clear the bases.

At the plate: Young, Vitale, Laney Littlefield and Miya Jackson each had base hits for Polk.
