Polk golfers dominate conference field at Bright’s Creek

Polk County’s boys golf team delivered a dominant performance Thursday at Bright’s Creek, easily topping a field of Mountain Foothills 7 Conference foes.
The Wolverines posted a team score of 324, besting the 352 posted by Chase. East Rutherford had a score of 358, with Patton at 391 and R-S Central at 395.
Avery Harden led Polk County with a 79, followed by Casey Beiler with an 80, Myles Menetre with an 82 and Evan Jones with an 83. Reilly Yoder added an 84.
Four other Wolverines competed for nine holes before time halted their play. Jaden Chupp had a 56 for that nine, with Will Dotson carding a 58 and Jacob Morgan and Dalton Dotson each finishing with 60s.
The Wolverines are slated to return to the links on Monday, traveling to Mimosa Hills Golf Club in Morganton for another match with MF7 schools.
