Free fun along Melrose Avenue in store for Super Saturday

TRYON–In addition to the nine amazing shows that you can attend at Super Saturday in Tryon on March 18 for just $2 per ticket, don’t miss out on all the free fun along Melrose Avenue!


Join the performers in strutting your stuff down Melrose Avenue during the annual parade. Participants will gather in front of the Congregational Church at 12:15 pm. The parade to TFAC begins at 12:30. 2023’s parade theme is “Neon Revolution,” so get out your neon gear and accessories and shine brightly!

There will be various performers set up along Melrose Avenue, including bubbleologist Steve Langley, balloon twister Mark Deverges, caricature artists Jerry Frazee and Kim Allman, paper cutting artist Mr. Cheng, and N8 The Magician. 


Local organizations Steps to HOPE, FENCE, Polk County Public Libraries, Tryon Arts & Crafts School, and St. Luke’s Hospital will be set up with free crafts and activities for children. Sizemore Gymnastics will offer a tumbling area, you can meet the miniature horses of Red Bell Run and adoptable dogs from Foothills Humane Society, and get your face painted by ​BBBS of WNC. PacJAM, Dance Dynamics, and Mountain Karate will all perform on the Community Stage.


Children’s Theater Festival’s presentation of Super Saturday is supported by grants from the Mary F. Kessler Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation.
