On Feb. 25, Jennifer Fisher, 42 of Columbus, took first place overall at the Box Creek Wilderness 10K.
The annual race held in Union Mills, N.C. is part of the Rutherford Outdoor Coalition. Despite the cold and rainy weather, many runners participated in the race.
The 10K trail boasts spectacular scenery, taking runners alongside the Second Broad River, the CSX Railroad, and around the base of Rocky Face Mountain and the area now known as Box Creek Wilderness.
