The Board of Directors of Tryon Painters and Sculptors voted to nominate Nancy Holland for induction into the Second Wind Hall of Fame, and the board of Second Wind Hall of Fame accepted the nomination. At the Tryon Painters and Sculptors board meeting on Feb. 21, Holland was officially inducted by Second Wind Hall of Fame Board member Carol Browning.
Holland has served her community diligently and has served the community she came from, as well. In Spartanburg, she was active in Sertoma and is a past president, and served on the Advisory Board for Mental Health America of Spartanburg.
Since moving to Tryon, Nancy has served as President of Tryon Painters and Sculptors. Holland currently serves on the Board of St. Luke’s Foundation and volunteers with the Tryon International Film Festival, while also serving on the Resource Committee of Guiding Reins.
Nancy continues to move full steam ahead. She holds a BS in Education from the University of SC Upstate. She is also a certified Coach facilitator and a graduate of the Grassroots Leadership Development Institute, and she has had courses in the Train the Trainer program. She has one son who lives in Spartanburg.
The mission of Second Wind is to identify those outstanding volunteers who contribute so much to the quality of life in our community, and to provide recognition of retirees sixty years and over who have had a useful and productive life continuing beyond retirement, while others paused to rest. They caught a SECOND WIND and began a new career of service to the community and to mankind.
Second Wind Hall of Fame is a 502(c)(3) organization and welcomes nominations for induction. Requests for nomination forms may be sent to email@example.com.
