The next Live@Lanier will feature Donna Younkin, Vice President of Tryon Riding and Hunt Club, as she shares the skill, sport and excitement of 3-day eventing. The program will take place at Lanier Library on Wednesday, February 15, at 6 p.m.

 

Younkin will help attendees imagine galloping across a field atop a 1,000-pound horse and then jumping a log and splashing into shallow water, all from the safety and comfort of their chairs. Those in attendance will gain learn about this cross-country competition, as well as show jumping and dressage—together the disciplines of 3-day eventing.

 

This program is a primer for non-riders who love the beauty and athleticism of horses and want to learn more about equestrian sports. It also provides context for those who want to spectate or volunteer at any of five local eventing shows in 2023.
