Do you want to help support local scholarships, local traditions and create new opportunities within our agricultural communities? The Sliders and Cider fundraiser event is planned for November 26 at the Caitlyn Farms Event Center in Mill Spring, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This fun, family-friendly event will feature a silent auction of items donated by local artists and businesses. A food truck provided by Caitlyn Farms will prepare sliders, tacos and nachos, using beef donated by Caitlyn Farms. Fresh pressed apple cider donated by TK Family Farms in the Green Creek region of Polk County will be served. Live music will be provided by The Paper Crowns and TJ Jeter.

The fundraising goal of this event is to provide two $2,500 scholarships to be awarded to Polk County students graduating in 2023.

Foothills Farm to Fork Trail was formed as an N.C. nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in June of this year to promote partnerships between local food producers, restaurants, and consumers, providing access to products necessary for preparing seasonal menus. This relationship also helps nurture local farms, dairies, wineries, orchards, and other value-adding producers while providing opportunities for youth “Farm to Fork” internships, scholarships, and employment in the Carolina Foothills region of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, the organization’s goals include initiating, developing, and expanding agritourism in the North Carolina Foothills region.

Join in the fun for the entire family on Saturday, November 26 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Caitlyn Farms Event Center located at 286 A R Thompson Rd, Mill Spring, NC. The center is located just 2.3 miles east of Mill Spring off Hwy. 108.
