The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played an Individual Low Net format plus had a closest-to-the-pin contest on the two-par threes on Monday, October 24. With the greens fast and some tough pin locations, the scores were higher than normal. The winners were:

 

1st place – George Torres – 36

 

2nd place – Phil Hall – 36

 

3rd place – Doug Gelbert – 37

 

4th place – Ken Watson – 37

 

Reggie Kennedy, John House, Mike Bates, Russ Rabenstein, Jim Shirley, Brad Rakow, Rody Dayvault, and Jerry Perry all had 38s.

 

Closest-to-the-pin on #3 – Jerry Pospisil – 16’ 2 ½”

 

Closest-to-the-pin on #8 – John Schickling – 8’ 6 ½”
