Weaver earns NCHSAA Performance of the Week Award

Polk County senior Angus Weaver has earned the NCHSAA Performance of the Week Award for the Sept. 12-17 period.

The Performance of the Week Award goes to one male and female athlete each week across the state. Athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.

In the Wolverines’ 41-20 win over Patton, Weaver rushed for a career-high 244 yards on 22 carries, scoring four touchdowns. He also caught a pass for 24 yards. Defensively, he had 17 tackles and a fumble recovery.
