The Foothills Music Club met on September 8 at Tryon First Baptist Church for the first “Gathering Together for Music” event of the 2022-2023 season.

The majority of the members participated in the program, performing vocally and on piano, classical guitar, recorder, flute, and bassoon. Composers represented included Bach, Pachelbel, MacDowell, Schubert, Villa Lobos, and others. There was a variety of selections that covered a wide range of time from the 1600s to the 1900s.

The Foothills Music Club meets monthly from September through May.  The purpose of the club is to give musicians the opportunity to improve and share their musical skills and to encourage young musicians by giving annual scholarships.
