Smoky Mountain (1-1) responded with a pair of goals later in the half, then scored early in the second half to take a 3-1 lead.

But Polk County responded with 9:50 remaining in the match as Jasper Azar drilled a perfect header off a corner kick, slicing the Mustang lead to a single goal.

The Wolverines would continue to push in the final minutes, but Smoky Mountain preserved the margin and the win.

Polk County is set to be back in action on Monday, hosting North Henderson in a 5 p.m. match.
