The Psalmists show us in their writings what it is to courageously and vulnerably enter into conversation with God. Join the Congregational Church (UCC) in Tryon for a half-day workshop retreat that will focus on what it means to form a deeper connection and conversation with God.
Workshop leaders are Linda Eiserloh and David Riddle, who will share their individual practices for listening to God’s voice. After discussion, participants will be guided in experiencing their methods.
Linda spent many years as an LCSW family and individual therapist. Her life-long spiritual journey has included much learning and teaching and eventually led her to a wonderful personal experience of listening to God and sharing the writings in her “Words From The Dove.”
David is a retired middle school science teacher and continuing spiritual seeker. He says, “After half a lifetime of faithful Christian service and diligent study, this practice of combining conversational prayer and journaling has led me to the most intimate and significant experience of the Christian faith I’ve ever known.”
The seminar will take place on Saturday, August 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Congregational Church Fellowship Hall in Tryon and on Zoom. Registration is required. You may register at https://ucctryon.breezechms.com/form/DeeperConnection.
If attending in person, please bring a mask. Should you have questions, you may call the church’s office at 828-859-9414.
