LANDRUM––In late 2021, the idea was proposed to Landrum City Council about opening an RV park at 531 North Howard Avenue (Hwy. 176). Neighbors of the proposed RV park, in the past, have come together in an attempt to stop the development of the park. Council further discussed the proposal at prior meetings.

After a neighborhood meeting, Rich Caplan, City Administrator, says that Council did not approve plans to annex the park into the city.

“We’re not going to approve them,” he says. “That land is still in an unincorporated portion of the city, controlled by Spartanburg County.”

Caplan says that he is uncertain if the RV park plans are moving forward, and he is currently unaware of the state of the county’s plans for the proposed RV park.

As of now, the proposed RV park has not been approved by Landrum City Council.
