According to Campobello Police Chief Chad McNeill, National Night Out is a national event where police interact with the community and get to know children and families

“It’s designed to bring the community closer,” Chief McNeill says. “What we are doing is different this time.”

The Campobello Police Department has collected school supplies through several Campobello area churches for children who will be in kindergarten through sixth grade and will be giving out all those items at this Tuesday’s event.

“We’re inviting every kid and parent from the community to come and visit each tent that’s there and get all their school supplies,” he says.

The Blood Connection will be there, providing an opportunity for community members to donate blood, in addition to local EMS and dispatch teams. Free food will be available, as well as games and kids’ activities.

Families from the Landrum, Campobello, and Inman areas are all invited to come to Gib Gosnell Park this Tuesday and collect free school supplies for their children.
