Tryon will be featured in a special segment that premieres Thursday night, July 28, at 9 p.m. on the PBS NC show, North Carolina Weekend.
The segment is called “A Weekend in Tryon,” and runs about two to three times longer than a typical segment in the show. It provides an in-depth profile of Tryon with a focus on things to see and do in and around town.
The segment was produced by Tryon resident Clay Johnson who worked with a Raleigh camera crew. They shot the segment May 5-8 of this year. It includes interviews with Tryon residents and business owners and features attractions like the Tryon Fine Arts Center, local galleries, shops and restaurants. Johnson also wrote and narrated the segment.
North Carolina Weekend is a weekly magazine show on PBS NC, the statewide PBS network. The show focuses on things to see and do across the state. It’s hosted by Deborah Holt-Noel. The Thursday night episode featuring Tryon will repeat Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 10 a.m. and the following Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
