Local fire departments respond to garage fire in Tryon

TRYON – On the evening of Wednesday, July 6, Tryon Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire off Warrior Drive in Tryon. Upon arriving, personnel with Tryon Fire Department’s Engine 27-3 discovered a two-story garage engulfed in flames. 

 

Firefighters had to work quickly to gain control of the situation, and they engaged in an aggresive attack to battle the rapidly growing fire, according to officials. With the aid of numerous local fire departments, crew members were able to fully extinguish the flames.

In addition to Engine 27-3, Tryon Fire Department’s Tanker 27, Squad 27, Truck 27 and Chief 27 were all on scene. Columbus Fire Department’s Engine 22-5 and Tanker 22, Saluda Fire Department’s Squad 23 and Engine 23-2, as well as Landrum Fire Department’s Engine 17, Engine 18, QRV 18 and Chief 17 were also on scene in an effort to battle the flames. 

 

Additionally, Polk County EMS and EM  assisted.

 

Gowensville Fire Department’s Engine 36 and Chief 36 covered calls in the Tryon and Landrum districts while officials responded to the garage fire.
