House fire near Harmon Field; one taken to hospital

Fire still under investigation
TRYON––There was a house fire in Tryon on Saturday afternoon.
According to Tryon Fire Chief Josh Waltman, Tryon Fire Department was dispatched at 3:51 p.m. to Harmon Field Road. The fire is believed to have started from a vehicle that was being worked on in the garage under the main floor of the house.
Chief Waltman says that about 30% of the house was burned, and about 50% of the house sustained smoke, water, and heat damage.
One occupant was transported to Spartanburg Regional with minor smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
