Polk County Farms welcomes everyone back to their farmers markets for the 2022 Summer Market Season! They are currently accepting vendor applications that can be filled out online on our website (www.polkcountyfarms.org) or copies can be picked up at any of their Winter Markets. Thanks to the Polk County Community Foundation’s generosity, all vendor fees have been waived for this season.
This year, the Saluda Tailgate Market will run every Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Located on West Main Street in Saluda, this market will run from May 6 through October 28.
The Columbus Farmers Market will be held every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Located at 40 Columbus St., in Columbus this market runs from May 7 to October 29.
The markets feature an abundance of locally grown foods. Shopping at the farmers markets provides an opportunity for small farmers to provide the freshest produce, eggs and meat products. They also offer a slew of locally handmade crafts.
In an effort to make this community centerpiece even more accessible to Polk County residents, they have the ability to accept SNAP benefits. In fact, at the farmers markets, your SNAP benefits are doubled! We look forward to seeing you at the market!
