The Unity in the Community Organization and Polk Central Elementary 5th Grade Science Class are sponsoring their 3rd Annual Arbor Day Tree Planting Campaign. The goal is to plant over 500 trees in Polk County, before NC Arbor Day, March 18, 2022.
Trees play a significant importance in our environment and human well-being. Trees provide us fresh air to breathe, shade, and food for humans and animals. Trees are beneficial to all of us. Therefore we are asking Polk residents to join us and to help reach our goal.
The Unity in the Community and the PCMS Science class will be offering a Free Tree Seedling to the public, Saturday February 26, 10 a.m. – 12 noon, at Tractor Supply in Columbus. Tree Seedlings available will be Black Cherry, Red Maple, Silky Dogwood, Scarlet Oak and White Pine. Please call 828-289-9627 or 828-429-8503, for more information
