PCVC opens season with two top-three efforts at SAVL Icebreaker

Polk County Volleyball Club kicked off its 2022 season with a pair of top-three finishes in the Southeast Alliance Volleyball League Icebreaker Club Kick-Off.

 

PCVC Shawn won the 16 Club division, going 5-0 and dropping just one set in besting the 14-team field.

PCVC Savannah finished third in the 13 Club division, going 4-1 and losing just two sets in competition against the 18-team field.

 

The PCVC 16 team clinched their championship in the two-day event at Xcel Sportsplex in Hendersonville with a 25-7, 25-18 victory over Tri-Cities Extreme Volleyball Club 16 Gary/Marquis.

 

The team reached the final with a three-set win earlier Sunday against Upward Stars 16 Rachel, taking a 23-25, 25-9, 15-6 victory in that match.

 

Team members include Elena Carroll, Elysia Smith, Kylie Lewis, Ada Kelley, Mia Bradley, Hayden Blackwell, Amberlyn Scruggs, Ella Waldman and Zaelea Eller. The team is coached by Shawn Corhn.

 

PCVC Savannah began Sunday in the Gold bracket at Star Center in Spartanburg, but dropped a 25-16, 25-22 decision to Upward Stats 13 Alyssa. The team rebounded with a 25-21, 25-18 victory over Upward Stats 13 MK to clinch third place.

 

Team members include Jessie Bradley, Renee Bright, Cate Brown, Jill Brown, Reeve Carroll, Ava Evan, Claire Lawrence and Bella Olivari. The team is coached by Savannah Webb.
