TRYON – Margaret Burns Wilson, 94, of Tryon, passed away, Saturday morning, December 25, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Garson Heman Burns and Stella Burrell Burns and wife of the late Joseph Lewis Wilson who passed away in 2004. Mrs. Wilson worked many years and retired from St. Luke’s Hospital Radiology Department. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and reading. Mrs. Wilson was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Garson Heman Burns, Jr. (Joan) and Jerry Burns (Anne); two sisters, Macie Burns and Marie Bell. Surviving is one son, Bruce Wilson (Bobbie) of Tryon; one daughter, Carole Wynn (Joe) of Apex; four brothers, James Burns (Judy) of Easley, John Burns (Sue) of Spartanburg, Don Burns (Gail) of Brevard and Harold Burns (Candice) of Landrum. Also, surviving are four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in Polk Memorial Gardens with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
