Polk County Middle opened its 2021 wrestling season on Tuesday with a pair of non-conference victories at R-S Middle School.

 

The Wolverines defeated Chase Middle 55-54, on tiebreaker criteria, then topped R-S Middle 60-39.

 

In the win over Chase, the teams had to go all the way to the fifth tiebreaker (team with the fewest forfeits) in order to break the 54-54 tie at the end of the matches.

 

Polk Middle will next be in action on Nov. 22, opening Blue Ridge Conference action with a 4:30 p.m. match at Macon Middle School.
