TRYON– John Andrew Salmon, Jr. of Tryon, passed away, Tuesday morning, October 26, 2021, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
Born in Durham, he was the son of the late John A. Salmon and Margery Veasey Salmon. Mr. Salmon owned and operated Air and Moisture Testing in New Orleans prior to moving to Tryon in 2005. After his arrival to Tryon, he opened Foothills Crawl Space and operated it until 2016. He served in the North Carolina National Guard. Mr. Salmon was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Barbara Hart Salmon; three sons, John A. Salmon, III (Tammy) of Palm Coast, FL, Stephen Caldwell (Robin) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Alex Connoly of New Orleans; two daughters, Kimberly Anne Hunt (Phillip) of Flagler Beach, FL and Cheryl Caldwell (Jamie Doren) of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Annelee, Benjamin and Savannah.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 150 Melrose Avenue, Tryon, North Carolina with Reverend Robert Ard officiating.
