Tryon Presbyterian Church invites children and their parents to a safe, enjoyable Halloween celebration Saturday, Oct. 30.

“Trunk or Treat” will let children collect Halloween goodies from church members in the TPC parking lot at 430 Harmon Field Road from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Refreshments also will be served.

“Everyone is welcome,” said Susan Speight, co-chair of the event for Tryon Presbyterian Church. “We want our children to experience a safe and loving Halloween, and we hope all our community children will join them. The more who come, the more fun we’ll all have.”

TPC member Brittany Meissner, who has three children, raised the idea for Trunk or Treat and is co-chairing the event. “Kids love Halloween, but parents like myself think about safety first, even in a friendly small town like Tryon,” she said. “So, what can be better than Trunk or Treat at a church where we have a wonderful family atmosphere? We’re also excited about seeing all the kids dressed up in their costumes. And who knows? Adults may get in on that, too.”

The church will count on good weather for Trunk or Treat. But too much rain will force a cancellation.
