The Top of the Grade Concerts at McCreery Park in historic downtown Saluda resume this summer with two shows on July 23 and August 20.

The concerts will be held on the Ella Grace Mintz Stage from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at McCreery Park. Top of the Grade concerts are coordinated by the City of Saluda and the Saluda Downtown Foundation. All concerts are free to the public thanks to donations and sponsorships from downtown businesses and residents.

“Saluda businesses and residents have been so generous in supporting this event,” said Marc Blazar, chair of the Saluda Downtown Foundation, Inc. “The concert series gives the community a chance to visit, listen to music and enjoy our beautiful downtown together.”

Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets. Food, soft drinks, beer and wine and coolers are allowed. No food will be available at the park, but all of Saluda’s delicious restaurants will be open serving everything from hamburgers and pizzas to gourmet meals. Events are rain or shine so bring an umbrella if rain is in the forecast. In some cases, rain events may move to the park’s Pavilion.

On July 23, The Paper Crowns Band will bring its mix of blues, psychedelic and Southern rock, American folk, Gospel and funk.

On August 20, Bob Sinclair and the Big Deals will perform. The band describes itself as “front porch swing music played by happy people. The Big Deals are kind of like country or jazz or swing but not really. It’s what happens when friendship, southern storytelling, musical talent and string quartet sensibilities combine.” The band’s music matches the vibe one feels in historic downtown Saluda.
