After a 15-month hiatus, a football game was finally played at Tennant Stadium. The Polk County JV team hosted the Hendersonville Bearcats in a game that marked the start of the delayed 2020 football season for both teams. A trio of big plays Thursday helped propel Hendersonville to a 28-6 victory over Polk. The Bearcats lead 16-6 at halftime. Polk County’s score capped a lengthy drive came from Lawson Carter’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Jones. One of the defensive highlights came in the fourth quarter when Polk’s Luke Miller recovered a fumble. The Wolverines return to action next Thursday when they visit East Rutherford.
