TRYON – John “Junior” Wesley Gosnell, Jr., 76, of Tryon passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Tryon, he was the son of the late John Wesley Gosnell and Eva Laughter Gosnell. For many years, Junior was a member of Polk County Rescue Squad until he retired. He attended Tryon Second Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Gosnell.

 

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Burrell Gosnell. Also surviving are many cousins.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dean Laughter officiating.

 

Burial will be private in Polk Memorial Gardens.
