Deb’s Mini Marts give Christmas presents to area children

POLK COUNTY—For the second year in a row, local Deb’s Mini Marts in Polk County have collected toys and money for local children for Christmas. The stores raised approximately $6,000 this year worth of gifts and donated all the toys to the Polk County Department of Social Services, Thermal Belt Outreach and Steps to HOPE.

The 3 stores in the county raised approximately $6,000 worth of toys with regional manager Bruce Waters saying the staff has worked hard promoting the drive every year and it takes numerous hours unpacking shipments of toys and pricing getting to each location.

Deb’s Mini Mart #1, located in Mill Spring raised $4,175 worth of toys this holiday season; Deb’s Mini Mart #2, located in Columbus raised $1,514 worth of toys and Deb’s Mini Mart #4 in Mill Spring raised $1,192.

“Without my wonderful staff taking pride and truly promoting this and our amazing customers’ participation these stores helped provide many of children’s gifts for Christmas,” Waters said. “This is our second year doing this and we plan to do it for many years to come.”
