MILL SPRINGJohn “Clint” Clinton Poteat, 30, of Mill Spring, a very sweet and dear soul, gained his angel wings in the presence of his maker, The Lord, Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021 at Pardee Hospital.

 

Born in Rutherfordton, NC he was the son of Kevin Ray Poteat and Sandra Bolt Poteat of Mill Spring. He was a 2013 graduate of Polk County High School and attended Polk County Vocational Services as well as being an active member of his community. Clint never met a stranger, a friend to all and greeted everyone with a smile. He was an active member of Faith Temple Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Patsy Poteat, maternal grandparents, John and Ruth Bolt.

 

Surviving in addition to his parents, two brothers, Nathan Poteat (Tricia) and Josh Poteat; one sister, Savannah Poteat; nieces, Mackenzie Poteat, Abigail Poteat and Emmylou Poteat; one nephew, Niko; paternal grandfather, Ray Poteat and his “very special friend” Lynne Paff.

 

Private graveside services for the family will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at Faith Temple Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Temple Baptist Church, 662 Mountain Range Road, Mill Spring, North Carolina 28756.
